Celebration of IVD 2015 and NVA Awarding Ceremony
As every year, in celebration of the International Volunteer Day (December 5), the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme in Viet Nam in cooperation with the Central Youth Union, National Volunteer Centre (VVC), volunteer organizations, clubs, and groups organize the biggest public volunteer event of the yearwith the aim to promote the values of volunteerism and highlight the contribution of volunteers.

This year’s International Volunteer Day (IVD) theme, "The world is changing. Are you? Volunteer!" is challenging each and every one of us to do our part for the newly launched Global Goals to be achieved. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is a plan of action for ending poverty irreversibly, everywhere, as well as to radically improve many other dimensions. Volunteerism, and each volunteer action, are critical to ensure we “leave no one behind” in this effort.

The Awarding Ceremony of the 2015 National Volunteer Awards will be held concurrently with the International Volunteer Day (IVD) on December 5, 2015, with an aim to resonate the message of volunteerism for peace and development, and in particular volunteering for the newly adopted Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition to the main individual and organizations awards as every year, a new category called “SDGs Prizes” for individuals and organizations with promising contribution in the areas of the SDGs has been introduced by UNV and the Central Youth Union.
