Thinh Van Hieu

Hieu had an adventurous life as when applying for this assignment he was still in Australia finishing his Bachelor Degree of Design for Multimedia Systems in RMIT University. By the time the template was nearly finished, he had moved to Massey University in Wellington, New Zealand doing a Masters Degree in Design. Before that, he received a Bachelors Degree in Physics from Ha Noi University of Sciences – Ha Noi National University.

His first adventure harks back to the time he went to Planet Asia Corp. in Singapore to work in a short term IT position to get experience and enough money to study multimedia design. Before joining this project, he was online volunteering for the Forum of Ha Noi University of Sciences as a technical administrator for more than 3 years. Although, Hieu was the latest applicant for this position, we accepted him due to his various relevant working experiences, and he didn’t disappoint us. Also, this young man has extensive experiences in movie production, 2D&3D animations, advertising, posters, brochures, company identities, and showrooms.

We had encountered some difficulties due to not being in the same place and at the same time. Gradually we have found ways to overcome these obstacles. I am very impressed by Hieu’s enthusiasm and patience which are crucial for this task. In order to come up with solutions for changes in the layout, I know that sometimes Hieu had to work very late because he had to study at university during day time and doing his part time job in the evening. And the result of those very late days is the layout you are looking at.

Hieu said: “After finishing the project, I took a look at my inbox. It was reasonably full of emails from the coordinator for the work. It was a nice memory when day by day we were working together and seeing the layout with new features developed and finally uploaded. This is a rewarding experience and I really look forward to next online volunteer assignment”.
