Hanoi, 10 June 2010 - The first national conference on Volunteerism for Development hosted by The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) in partnership with the United Nations in Viet Nam, concluded successfully in Hanoi on June 7th.
The conference aimed to contribute to the visibility of the work of volunteers and their contributions to development, as well as promote a common vision on the role of volunteerism in the achievement of national development goals, among other objectives.
Hanoi, 5 December 2009 – In recognition of the noble efforts of volunteers worldwide, International Volunteer Day (IVD) is celebrated every December 5.
This year, the global theme for IVD 2009 is “Volunteering for our Planet”, recognizing that climate change impacts us all and that tackling the problem requires the ingenuity and the participation of all people. In Ha Noi, a day-long Environmental Youth Camp will be staged on 5 December at the Ha Noi Botanical Gardens by volunteer organizations.
