We wrote about her not because of all the titles that have honoured her, such as 2004 Asian Hero, 2007 Young Global Leader, one of the 6 torch bearers for the 2008 Beijing Olympics in Ho Chi Minh city… We wrote about her simply because we admire her extraordinarily strong will and bravery against all the odds to live a fruitful life in society. She is Pham Thi Hue who has stood up to and fought the HIV/AIDS epidemic. She is now a volunteer with United Nations Volunteers (UNV volunteer), actively working to promote HIV/AIDS prevention activities in Hai Phong city.
