Tea Leoni is visiting Viet Nam from 2-6 March 2008 as a board member of US Fund for UNICEF. The objective of the visit is to get first hand knowledge on the situation of the children with disabilities, including those affected by dioxin in Viet Nam, as well as to learn more about the efforts that the Government, NGOs and communities have been made in addressing the needs of children with disability in Viet Nam. In close cooperation with the Ford Foundation, this visit is a part of the effort to raise more funds for the program for children with disabilities in Viet Nam.

During her visit, Tea will meet with relevant Government Agencies and organizations in Ha Noi and Da Nang on the issues related to children with disability. She will also visit some households and a Day Care Respite Centre for Children with Disability in Da Nang where she will meet and talk to children with disability and their caregivers.

This is Tea’s second visit to Viet Nam. Her last visit was in October 2005 which aimed at raising awareness of the global spread of HIV/AIDS, particularly as it affects women and children.
