Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA)
The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) is the State Management Agency for Gender Equality Law and to develop National Strategy (2011-2020) and the National Program on Gender Equality (2011-2015). In this regard, MOLISA is responsible to perform state management of gender equality, guide other line ministries in the implementation of gender equality in line with laws, participate in the evaluation of mainstreaming gendgender equality in Viet Nam . MOLISA is a focal point for Country report on CEDAW implementation in Viet Nam and follows up on the CEDAW Concluding Comments since 2008, when NCFAW was merged to MOLISA. The Ministry is also responsible to coordinate Viet Nam’s participation in UN mechanisms for promoting women’s rights, such as follow up the Plan of Actions of the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing and Beijing Plus and the Annual Commission on the Status of Women.
The Department of Gender Equality, under the MOLISA, has the tasks to assist and advise the Minister to fulfil the state management tasks to achieve gender equality, such as propose short term and long-term strategies, plan of actions, national programs for gender equality and legal documents; provide guidance as well as monitor the implementation of the Law on Gender Equality and CEDAW implementation and monitoring, be an integral part in monitoring and evaluation of gender mainstreaming process in policy and legal formulation and implementation; undertake relevant researches, trainings and disseminate information related to gender equality; review and report the situation regarding gender equality.

THE NATIONAL COMMITTEE FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF WOMEN IN VIET NAM (NCFAW)
NCFAW is an inter-sectoral body that advises the Prime Minister of inter-sectoral issues concerning gender equality and women's empowerment nationwide. In 2008 the Prime Minister issued a decision empowering NCFAW to assist in researching and coordinating interdisciplinary issues related to advancement of women in Vietnam; to collaborate with all line ministries, ministerial-level agencies, People’s committee at all levels and mass organizations to disseminate and promote the implementation of policies and laws regarding women’s advancement; to achieve national target related to women’s advancement; to regularly report to Prime Minister on its operation. NCFAW includes representatives from different ministries and ‘mass organizations’. In September 2008 the Minister of MOLISA was designated the president of NCFAW. The vice-chairs are the president of the Viet Nam Women's Union and the Vice Minister of MOLISA.
COMMITTEES FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF WOMEN (CFAW)
Each ministry and province of Viet Nam also has its own Committee for the Advancement of Women. These committees have developed their own ministerial and provincial plans of action (POA), which are monitored by NCFAW . Each CFAW is composed of key people from related departments, including personnel, women's affairs, the Women's Union and trade unions.

MINISTRY OF CULTURE, SPORT AND TOURISM (MOCST)
As the State Management Agency on domestic violence prevention and control, MOCST is responsible for the coordination of implementation of programs and plans on combating and preventing domestic violence, development of family counselling and domestic violence counselling as well as care centre for domestic violence victims, provision of training to in-charge personnel, monitor and reporting on the domestic violence situation . MOCST also in collaboration with relevant ministries and agencies preside at the development of the National Action Program on domestic violence prevention and control for the 2010-2020 period”  and at the implementation of Viet Nam Family Development Strategy 2011-2020, vision to 2030 . The Family Department of MOCST is the focal point for these responsibilities.

THE COMMITTEE FOR SOCIAL AFFAIRS – NATIONAL ASSEMBLY
The Committee for Social Affairs belong to the National Assembly. Members of the Committee are selected by the National Assembly. The Committee performs its functions of state management on social affairs nationwide such as issues related to labour, health, religious, gender equality and other social issues. Specific tasks are assigned by National Assembly, including (1) to verify bills, draft ordinances in regard to their scope of activities (2) To monitor and supervise the implementation of laws and resolution of the Government, the Prime minister’s office, ministries, ministerial-level agencies and other legal documents, to monitor the implementation of Government, ministries and ministerial-level agencies in developing national social-economic plans (3) To recommend on the operation of relevant governmental agencies and laws and policies as well as solutions to National Assembly . The Committee delivered its monitoring report on the implementation of gender equality and the implementation of the Law on Gender Equality in 2009 which was submitted to National Assembly.
THE VIET NAM WOMEN’S UNION (VWU)
Viet Nam Women’s Union (VWU) is a socio-political organization in the political system representing for women’s rights and legitimate interests and strive for the women’s advancement and gender equality in Viet Nam. The Viet Nam Women’s Union (VWU) was formed in 1930 . The Women Union functions as state administrative body in ensuring participation of the VWU at all levels. An estimated 15 million women are members of the Women’s Union, representing more than 50 percent of the female population over age 18. The Women’s Union has a multi-layered decision making structure, which makes it particularly effective for networking at all levels. It operates at the central, provincial, district and commune levels .

WOMEN WORKER AFFAIRS – DEPARTMENT OF THE VIET NAM GENERAL CONFEDERATION OF LABOR
Female labour affairs section, under Trade Union, functions as body advising the Trade Union Presidium and the Executive Committee on gender issues, such as gender equality, gender integration into activities of the Trade Union, women’s advancement and female labor affairs. This unit is responsible for proposing activities to promote women’s advancement, activities to protect and care about maternal-child issues and activities regarding population/ reproductive health/ family planning. In collaboration with other relevant units, sections under Trade Union, Female labor affairs section monitors the implementation of children and female related policies and laws.
