unredd_video_thumbnail215 Aug 2011 - This short video introduces UN-REDD - the United Nations Collaborative Initiative on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation - programme in Viet Nam. UN-REDD supports developing countries to protect, better manage and wisely use their forest resources, thus contributing to the global fight against climate change.

Viet Nam is one of 13 countries currently implementing the UN-REDD Programme, utilizing the expertise of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The Programme provides technical advice on ways to address deforestation and forest degradation, methods and tools for measuring and monitoring greenhouse gas emissions and forest carbon flows.
