Tokyo, from 16 to 18 November, the Government of Japan is hosting the Tokyo Green Industry Conference, which is being organized in cooperation with UNIDO and its partner agencies.
The conference is a follow-up to the Asian Green Industry Conference held in the Philippines in 2009 and aims to scale-up and mainstream green industry policies, methods and techniques. Moreover, the conference will highlight the availability of environmental and resource conservation techniques and practices that are good for businesses, the environment and climate, employees, communities and consumers.
The delegation from Viet Nam will be headed by Vice Minister of Industry and Trade Mr Hoang Quoc Vuong, with more than 20 participants from various Vietnamese ministries, business associations and local authorities.
The UN in Viet Nam is providing a range of support to the Government on green growth and green industry. This includes policy advice on the green industry policy framework for the national Green Growth Strategy; assistance to Hoi An city to become the first eco-town in Viet Nam; as well as the UN joint programme on green production and trade.
