13 June 2011 - At the mid-year Consultative Group Meeting for 2011, which this year took place in Ha Tinh Province in the north central coast of Viet Nam during June 8-9, the United Nations and other development partners shared ideas and discussed with Vietnamese leaders development challenges and opportunities facing  the country. 

The United Nations' statement, themed "Re-establishing and maintaining macroeconomic stability and protecting the poor," included a review of the current macro-economic environment, the impacts of inflation on the poor, natural hazards and climate change, anti-corruption in the extractive industries and aid effectiveness.
